Second Shamo ASG video advertisement

This video was made by Wotan (as usual) on january 9th 2005, in the middle of polish winter though you won't see a bit of snow here. This shows what we were equipped with at that moment. Indianin had G3 SAS, Squarek - MP5 A5, Mamut - MP5 A3, I had MP5 SD3, Majki carried SR16 previously owned by Wotan, Wrubel had some M15A4 carbine.

You can see me in the movie during two brief moments. The first time I am visible is after the smoke attack on the bridge, around 50th second of the movie, carrying the MP5 and with helmet on my head. The second time is when I fall towards the flaming smoke grenade (1:59).

Now two photographs taken at that day.

The Shamo video ad

I mentioned about this ad before. But since this evening is devoted to the history of Shamo Warsaw Airsoft Team, I scroll through my photos and videos to find something worth showing.

This video (link for those of you who are unpatient) was made around february 2004. At that moment we had mostly spring and gas powered replicas, only me and Indianin had MP5s (he had A5, I had SD3).

Poor copy of Charlie's Angels

This is a poor copy of Charlie's Angels, photo taken on october 24th 2004. You can see there Majki with his sawed-off AUG, Wrubel with borrowed Famas (the replica was and is owned by Kmicic) and Squarek with his MP5K. That was very nice game because I always liked playing with many people (many targets to shoot).

The view I hated

What is this? That's the view of what's inside MP5 SD3's gearbox. Why did I write that I hated that view? Because I had many troubles with this replica and didn't like all the repairs I had to do. The most unpleasant experience was to go to airsoft game without knowing that the replica will fire 1000, 100, 10 or none BBs at all.

After many repairs I finally saw that the main cause with the gearbox was broken selector plate... It had one crack that was almost invisible but prevented it from operating. I also had troubles with nozzle that I had to replace with custom made by one of my father's friends. It was made of metal but was not as tight as the original one.

Majki and his Steyr AUG

Majki's first AEG was this Steyr AUG replica by Tokyo Marui. I presume he bought it somewhere around autumn 2004 because this photo was taken on october 10th 2004. As far as I remember he sawed-off part of the barrel, silenced it (he put some foam around gearbox inside the stock) and sold the replica with income. You can see the sawed-off rifle in the post about poor copying of Charlie's Angels.

At that time I didn't understand Majki because he was buying and selling replicas on a regular basis while I stuck to one MP5 SD3. It seems now that this is a proper way of maintaining your ASG collection because you can't tell if the replica you want to buy will fill all your needs. This is the reason for which I had couple different submachine guns and rifles and even now am not sure which one I prefer...

Note that this is the same replica I own at the moment - Steyr AUG A1, but from different manufacturer. I own a Classic Army replica and this one was made by Tokyo Marui.

Wotan and his SR16 Knights

Photo taken on september 9th 2004 in Tomice, the place that held airsoft game with many players from all around Warsaw. At that time that was the most crowded game we attended. You can see Wotan with his then-bought Tokyo Marui's SR16 Knights and Mamut with no replica visible. ;) Wotan was using urban camouflage at that moment. To be honest I don't know if he uses any camo now because he lives currently in Scotland and doesn't play airsoft with us anymore. :(

MP5 and S&W M6904 sidearm

After some time (around spring 2004) I decided that MP5 SD3 is not enough. I thought that I needed a sidearm, a simple and cheap gas pistol. I chose one of the cheapest at that moment, S&W M6904 replica. The photo shows me and both of my replicas. You can see the outfit I was using at that time -- M65 trousers, jacket and polish metal helmet WZ50 (mark 1950), I mentioned using this outfit earlier.

This photo was taken on march 13th 2004 in BiaƂobrzegi.

My first AEG replica - MP5 SD3

This photo was taken on january the 17th 2004, this was one of the first games I attended with my first AEG replica - MP5 SD3 by ICS... Photo courtesy of Wotan. This electric airsoft MP5 was not a purchase I would remember well -- I had a lot of trouble using it. It broke several times. I will add some more information here when I find some time...

As you can see at my early airsoft games I used Battle Dress Uniform with Urban camouflage. That was not the best choice, because it wasn't universal for urban and forest games but that winter we played almost exclusively indoor. After that I was using M65 jacket and trousers and now am using M65 trousers and flecktarn parka.

New purchases

Today I ordered two more things for my mG36 conversion. First is the battery stock, I mean the battery that fits the large battery. Second is the precise inner barrel for M14, 6,04 mm diameter, 500 mm lenght (6 mm to long, in worst case I'll have to cut that bit), manufactured by Deep Fire.

After the parts come here I'll start tuning my replica, i.e. putting 170% CA spring, better nozzle and the precise barrel.

I also ordered a flecktarn helmet cover month ago. Photos as soon as possible.

mG36 -- the next things to do

This photo was taken at the last airsoft game I attended. You can see me in flecktarn parka and with flecktarn cloth on my head and the replica (mG36) covered with woodland camo net.

Because I have at home two flecktarn jackets (one of them is to small for me), I decided to make some kind of camouflage for my replica. I don't know exactly what will it look like.

I want to buy the hollow stock to put battery there and the upper rail from G36C -- lower and able to hold any separate scope. I will also install the 170% CA spring and better air nozzle, to "win" couple of FPS. Perhaps I will also purchase bore-up cylinder and piston set...
